Learn to Knit
Come and learn how to knit a pumpkin ornament. You will learn basic knitting skills and end up with 2 or 3 ornamental items to take home. This is a 4-week course.
Cost: $80
Date & Time: This course will be offered twice,
- every Wednesday evening from October 8-29 from 6:30-8:30
- every Tuesday afternoon from November 4-25 from 2:00-4:00
Level: Beginner
Instructor: Lynda Driedger
Skills Covered: Casting on, knitting, purling, binding off
Needles and yarn will be provided.
Learn to Crochet
Come and learn how to crochet a pumpkin ornament. You will learn basic crochet skills and end up with 2 or 3 ornamental items to take home.
Cost: $70
Date & Time: This is a 2-week course, with lessons on October 20 & 27 from 6:30-8:30 in the evening
Level: Beginner
Instructor: Sharla Davey
Skills Covered: Chain and single crochet
Hooks and yarn will be provided.
Mini-Sock Christmas Ornament
Join us to make an adorable "mini-sock" ornament for your tree, and learn transferrable sock knitting skills. You will practice your new skills by making a (baby) sock-size tree ornament.
Cost: $75
Date & Time: November 15 from 1:00-4:00 in the afternoon
Level: Intermediate or advanced beginner (at ease with casting on, knitting and purling).
Instructor: Heather Stone
Skills Covered: Knitting in the round with 4 needles, ribbing, making a heel flap and gusset (including turning the heel), decreasing and finishing the toe.
Needles and yarn will be provided.
Introduction to Drop Spindle Spinning
In this 3-hour course you will learn to spin and ply your own yarn using a drop spindle.
Cost: $65
Date & Time: This course will be offered twice,
- on October 2nd from 6:00-9:00 in the evening
- on October 9th from 2:00-5:00 in the afternoon

Instructor: Jane Thornton
Skills Covered: Spinning & Plying with a drop spindle, drafting from roving
Fibre will be provided, but the student is responsible to bring their own drop spindle (Manitoba-made spindles will be available for purchase in the mill store).
